Your privacy is important to us. To protect your privacy, Caracole, Inc. provides this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.

This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected or submitted on Caracole’s website. This policy does not apply to information collected in person when you engage in Caracole’s health education, prevention, case management or housing services. The Information We Collect from the Website

On some pages of our website, you can make donations or request information. Caracole does not directly process online donations, therefore we do not ask for credit card information. The company that processes our online donations has a privacy policy statement that explains what information they collect and how they use your information.

Caracole also contracts with an applicant tracking system; if you apply for employment through the website, the application, resume and other materials you provide will be stored in an online database available only to our staff. The company processing these applications also has privacy policies to protect your data.

The type of information collected on Caracole’s web pages can include:

  • Information you provide in requesting information from us or in applying for employment

Caracole encrypts financial information provided online. Personal and financial information is accessible only to Caracole staff or contractors who have signed privacy agreements. All contractors and staff who access personal information are bound to adhere to this policy as part of their contract or employment with Caracole.

Tracking and Cookies

When you access our website, we and contracted service providers may collect certain technical information from your computer or mobile device using cookies or similar technologies, such as your Internet Protocol address, your browser type, your operating system, the pages you view on the website, etc. This information allows us and our service providers to learn more about how our site is used by the public, what information is helpful, and what marketing resources are effective. We do not tie this information back to your personal contact information, name or services received.

How We Use Information

We use the information you provide about yourself only for information or services you request. We do not share this information with outside parties.

Caracole, Inc. will never sell any of your personally identifiable information to anyone.

  • If you request information about our services, we will use your email address and contact information to respond to your request. We will not add your information to any database, and will not share the information outside the organization without your express permission unless subject to law enforcement or social work board requirements.
  • If you subscribe to our newsletter, offer to volunteer, sign up for an event or make a donation through the website, your information will be added to one or more of our supporter lists and databases, and you may be contacted about Caracole activities, news, and/or fundraising campaigns.
  • If you apply for employment through our website, your information will be stored in our applicant tracking system and will be shared with appropriate hiring and HR staff. We will maintain your resume and attached information for five years. We will not share the information outside the organization without your express permission.
  • We submit a mailing list of the names and addresses of our supporters to a printing/mailing company or listserv company when we send out mass quantities of a publication (i.e. newsletters or event invitations), however the companies with whom we contract these services are legally bound to keep your information confidential and cannot share your information with any outside organization or business.
  • If Caracole has an event or promotion in collaboration with another organization or business, we do not give the other entity your name, email address, or mailing information; rather we mail the publication from the Caracole offices or using our own services.

How to Opt Out

At any time, you may request not to receive any e-mail, mail or solicitation calls from Caracole, Inc. We retain your request so that it will be respected in the future. If you wish to review or correct the contact information we have on file for you or inform us how you wish your contact information to be used, please contact our staff using the contact information below.

You may opt out of our mailing or calling by informing us by e-mail, by phone, in writing or in person.
