We positively change lives in the fight against HIV/AIDS through prevention, housing and care.
We champion causes to eliminate negative outcomes and stigma from our local communities and beyond.
We are problem solvers who find new solutions to improve the lives of those we serve.
We uphold the highest standards to not only be the best we can be but also the most effective.
We allow humanity and hope to have a visible presence and be a driving force in all we do.
Founded in 1987, Caracole started as a small, non-medical hospice for people dying of AIDS. Over the decades as the disease and diagnosis changed, we’ve played an essential role in helping people live well—and thrive—with HIV.
The name “Caracole” is derived from the Spanish word for “snail shell.” As a snail grows, the shell will grow with it. Like a shell, Caracole provides a safe space that grows to meet the changing needs of the people we serve.
The HIV epidemic began more than 40 years ago. We’ve been in the fight for 35 of those years.
We are a progressive, dynamic human services organization and a great place to work.
Transparency and fiscal accountability are key to delivering superior services for our clients.
